Energy Directive 2009/28/EC of 23 April 2009

Directive on promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources and ... on the qualified labour needed in order to implement this directive.

In Article 14 "Information and Training" and in Annex IV "Certification of installers" this Energy Directive 2009/28/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council we can find detailed descriptions of the qualifications which are needed in order to install renewable energy equipment. By 2012 the European Commission will develop a certificate which will reflect that a specialist can be entitled to do these tasks.

Projects like QualiCert and AIRE develop the necessary certification in order to put this directive into effect.
